How did the project Lazarus and Vespucci?
Always fascinated by the car, I particularly like vintage cars. I love that it vibrates, there are odors, it makes noise. I have always found that the car was late compared to other industries. The cars look alike and this lack of creativity. I wanted to be able to offer a personalized service and to do for collection or vintage cars, providing a single service in a world where customers need reassurance. Thus was born Lazare and Vespucci.Qu'elle is the philosophy of Lazarus and Vespucci?
Lazarus and Vespucci is a mark on which people can rely. The cars work like in the 60s or better. You turn the key and go! Those who are not familiar with old cars can be confident because I am the link between them and the artisans. I take note of their desires and transmits them to specialized artisans. I'm a bit like a conductor. I also propose some innovative services such as the integration of a sound system with ipod connection / iphone makes a sound absolutely beautiful. It can improve a car because it has no disk brake, provide three-point belts ... lots of little things that improve the car, safety, and whose objective is fun.
How are you looking for artisans?
I appeal to artisans for each of my models. One specializes in Fiat, the other in the Jaguar ... these are people who have absolutely no need for me to live because they already have a job and years of experience behind them. These are talented artisans. I tell them about my projects, how I want to restore the car ... they decide to go with me or not. Their work is in the details. They use such American coins, much more valuable than Chinese coins. They are true experts.
The car as art object? People who come to me are not really collectors. They want a vintage car, with guarantees to be able to roll. My first sale was a Ford Mustang convertible purchased by a customer who dreamed for years. He dared not buy one because he was afraid of not knowing how to handle it. For my part, I do not want to have a great collection of cars if it is to do nothing with. I prefer to have some of that roll. I often buy models that have just been restored "Contest" condition. I get to ride with them, not they pass the garage to the exposure stage.
What is the history of the exposed Fiat Torpedo thank you in during installation Tee Time?
The Torpedo was built in the 60s in Turin. At the time, body builders were keen to show their skills to deal with major manufacturers such as Ferrari. They used a conventional utility car, the Fiat 600 Multipla, while emblem of the Roman taxi. They kept the frame and made a range of cars for fun, for customers who wanted to go from the city to the beach.
To my knowledge there are only three models in the world. Nice one - which was the opening of the Formula 1 circuit in Monaco - sold abroad since. Thank you that set in at the moment and another that I picked up in Arizona! An American called me one day and told me he had a car that closely resembled Fiat Torpedo. By sending me the photos I've realized that indeed it was one! It was almost identical to mine except that the seats were plastic with stripes. I did not hesitate, I went to get there.
The model I have belonged to the President of Fiat. It was then bought by an Italian collector who sold to a French collector in the 90 After his time at the Fiat thank you depart at Saint-Tropez. I am very happy she goes on the Riviera, this is where I imagined.
