The world's most powerful electric car launched in Spain

It is called Fly-e and has been dubbed by its creators as "the world's most powerful electric car". It is also a prototype Made in Spain, which comes from the hand of Applus + IDIADA. It has a power of 1000 hp and is capable of reaching 300 km / h. Who said that electric cars had to be slow, modest and urban?

Fly-e, the power that breaks myths.

The Fly-e has been designed pare break certain entrenched myths about electric vehicles. First, design is not one of those small city cars unpretentious, but a sports bold. However, does this car something to deal with the power of combustion cars?

The performance of Fly-e can match or even exceed those of conventional vehicles. The figures are truly amazing for a vehicle of this nature: over 1,000 horsepower, a top speed above 300 kilometers per hour and acceleration from 0-100 km / h by 3.5 seconds. And of course, zero emissions.

It is also worth mentioning its tubular chassis constructed of a lightweight composite called "Cr-Mo steel" and his spectacular body in carbon fiber. The result: a car that weighs only 1,700 kilos.

The "motor" Fly-e actually consists of four motors, one for each wheel, controlled by a drive system called iTORQ acting independently for each of the four engines.

Yes, there are many things to improve, especially increasing battery life and recharge. Also, although this is not their fault the designers of this or other electric models.

The official launch of this innovative vehicle took place a week ago at the Circuit de Catalunya. Note that Fly-e has been developed by Applus + IDIADA in just four months thanks to funding from the European Commission (50%) in the multinational center in the town of L'Albonar (Tarragona).
